NABL Testing Services

NABL Testing

NABL testing refers to the accreditation services provided by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in India. This accreditation ensures the technical competence, reliability, and credibility of laboratories across diverse fields.

What is NABL?

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) is an autonomous body under the Quality Council of India (QCI). It accredits laboratories that perform:

  • Testing
  • Calibration
  • Medical testing

Accreditation is granted in accordance with international standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15189. NABL accreditation is globally recognized, enabling international trade by ensuring that test results are accepted across borders.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) refers to the ability of electrical equipment and systems to function properly in their electromagnetic environment without causing or suffering from interference.

EMI/EMC Testing is mandatory for CE certification, especially for manufacturers exporting products to European countries.

  • Products Covered: Automotive, Telecommunication, IT/AV, Multimedia, Lighting, Household Electricals, Machinery, Railway Equipment, Battery/BMS, Laboratory Equipment, Medical Devices, EV Chargers, Relays, Surge Protection Devices, Road Traffic Signal Systems

  • Tests Conducted:- CE – Conducted Emission, RE – Radiated Emission, CS – Conducted Susceptibility, ESD – Electrostatic Discharge, EFT – Electrical Fast Transient, PFMF, Current Harmonics, Transient Immunity, Voltage Dips, Voltage Variations, Superimposed Voltage, Voltage Rise and fall, Short Circuit Protection, Open Circuit Test, Overvoltage, Surge, Impulse

Environmental testing exposes products to extreme conditions to evaluate their performance and durability.

  • Products Covered: Automotive Components, Plastic Components, Consumer Electronics, Household Products, Lighting Products
  • Tests Conducted:- Thermal Shock/Mechanical Shock, Salt Spray Test, Cold And Dry Heat Tests, Damp Heat (Cyclic) Test, Thermal Shock Test, Dust Test, IP Testing, Thermal Aging, Humidity Conditioning

This testing assesses a product’s ability to withstand stress and remain reliable over time. It focuses on drop, impact, and vibration tests.

  • Products Covered: Automotive, Defense, Railway, Aerospace Components, Batteries, Consumer Electronics, Lighting Products
  • Tests Conducted: Vibration, Shock

♻️ RoHS Compliance Testing

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) testing ensures that electronic and electrical products are free from harmful materials. It is essential for manufacturers, recyclers, and distributors worldwide.

  • Purpose: To create safer environments by reducing hazardous substances in products.
  • Products Covered: Lighting Products, Consumer Electronics, Automotive Components, Batteries

IP Testing evaluates a product’s resistance to dust, water, and other foreign objects that may cause damage or failure.

For electronics manufacturers, IP Testing is critical to:

  • Meet regulatory standards
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  • Prevent costly product recalls

Climatic Testing Scope

Climatic testing is conducted to expose technical products and devices to real-world stresses and strains that they are likely to encounter during their operational life cycle. Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and other climatic influences can significantly affect the performance of electronic products, parts, and components, and in some cases may even cause failure.

This testing simulates the life cycle environments of the product to ensure that it can perform satisfactorily in its intended conditions.

Tests Conducted: Temperature Testing, Humidity Testing, Altitude Testing, Icing & Freezing Rain Testing, Fungus Testing, Salt Fog Testing, Thermal Shock Testing, Wind & Rain Testing, Solar Radiation Testing.

Conclusion

NABL testing plays a vital role in quality assurance across industries. By adhering to international standards, NABL-accredited laboratories strengthen trust in healthcare, manufacturing, environmental monitoring, and beyond.
